Description
Habaneros are an exceptionally hot pepper; about 50 times hotter than the Jalapeno pepper. Prolific plants grow 36” tall and produce light green tapered fruits with wrinkled skins that mature to bright orange. The fruity flavor and floral aroma is highly prized when used sparingly to add zest to dishes.
It is reccommended to plant your hot peppers close together, but you can also plant these peppers with other vegetables to allow some shelter from the sun to keep them from drying out. You can plant your peppers with tomatoes, cucumbers, eggplant, escarole, okra, swiss chard and squash. Some companion herbs are basil, oregano, parsley and rosemary. Keep your hot peppers away from beans, broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, brussel sprouts and fennel.
