Description
Cucurbita pepo
Early Yellow Summer Squash is easy-to-grow and matures quickly. It produces an abundance of low-calorie, versatile fruits. This variety is straight and slender with tender pale yellow skin and creamy yellow flesh. Use this squash raw or cooked and it freezes well when sliced or cubed.
Beans, corn, icicle radishes, cucumber, melon, mint, onions and pumpkins are great companion plants for squash. Marigolds, nasturtium and oregano will provide some pest protection. Squash and potatoes should not be planted together.
